No Small Miracles
There’s no such thing as a small miracle. If the devil can’t keep us depressed and doubting God, if he can’t keep us in a cycle of shame and forgetting our identity as God’s beloved— then the next best thing he can do is make us forget the miracle of existence. If he can minimize what God has done in our everyday lives— the very breath in our lungs and the fact that the place we’re standing in was what we once prayed for; if he can make us forget the midnight breakthroughs, the moments of faithfulness and daily discipline to follow Jesus at what seemed like insignificant crossroads— then he has won. If the devil can foster a mindset of obligation and entitlement in us rather than one of honor and humility, then he has already won the battle of stealing our joy and pushing us towards forfeiting our calling.
I’m finding that the more I say thank you to God and recognize his hand on every little thing in my life, the more I experience victory over the things of this world. The more encompassing the Holy Spirit’s presence becomes in me, and the more I see his light dispelling the darkness.
And it’s not just that God’s hand is on the good things. This year God spoke over my heart that he’s with me in the valleys and that his hand is on the painful things, too. There’s so much power in saying “The enemy meant this for evil, but God meant this for good.”
Today I want to encourage you that there’s no such thing as a small miracle!! Life is a gift and the Giver is good.
